comfortable and inviting lounge and helpful staff throughout
bedroom sound insulation could be better
The hotel has ever changing guests coming and going on coaches everyday. The hotel feels a little like a transit camp for elderly people
The food was very good and the staff helpful and pleasant. On the whole all very satisfactory
The only downside was there was not always a member of staff behind the bar in the lounge so there was a bit of hanging around there
Value for money, tea & coffee, good breakfast.
Banging doors, guests or staff not clear. Same old problem world wide!
It's location in relation to the shops.
The rather inflexiable attitude to seating for meals.
The oldy worldy feeling - in the furniture, decorations, etc. and in the service. The swiming pool was a big plus.
Excellent hotel, except the sausage at breakfast. overall very good would book again.
Staff were friendly, courteous, helpful and obliging. Breakfast had a great selection.
good location and the breakfast was not a buffet left to go cold, but good table service which is unusual, but welcomed.
the hotel needs updating. the gym was nice and quiet but the machinary is old and only available until 7.30pm! breakfast was only served 8 to 9.30am including weekends. this meant we couldn't have breakfast before a day trip due to ferry checkin time, and we couldn't have a later start and have breakfast later. for the size of this hotel, they could extend their hours.
On the whole the hotel was fairly comfortable, staff efficient and friendly. Location convenients for shops and sea front.
The main complaint was that the dining tables were too close together touching the next table, more like a canteen style than hotel. This aspect spoilt the hotel. The evening entertainment also left something to be desired.
Good food wasted by being cooked ages before service, tables in dinning room far too close together, placed as a single guest with a complete stranger for breakfast, entertainment was plenty but poor acts and most of them using electronic gadgets not a real performance.
Friendly, helpful staff. Breakfast very good selection with attentive waitering. Having the use of an indoor pool from 7.30am. Closeness to shopping facilities. Entertainment good.
The matress in the twin bed room was far too hard and the pillows had no life left in them. The indoor pool was too small, particularly when there were children and adults in there. At 7.30am there were between four and seven adults which filled the small pool completely. It should not have been closed at 7.00pm at night.
Very clean hotel and staff were all very well turned out and polite and helpful. Breakfast was delicious. I was very pleasantly surprised and would like to return with my family.
Liked the room - quality good, including bathroom. Position between town and beach very good.
Did not like dining arrangements - too much like Butlins used to be. Tables too close to each other. Inflexible "rules" concerning room service - was not "allowed" to have a room service sandwich in the lounge/bar - astonishing for a 3 star hotel.
Good location handy for town centre for shopping, drinks meals out etc Friendly helpful staff. Nice size room ( family room booked for just the two of us) Good food, Nice pool area and gardens, very spacious, clean, comfortable reception and bar area's
Would have liked a safe facility in the room, perhaps more sun beds although more would have meant overcrowding the pool area so perhaps not achievable. Better shower, the water pressure seemed very low and the water just trickled out at times. Would have liked a different table lay out, our table was sandwiched between two other couples with only a 6" gap between.
